Whats in a name?

"Polish officials have become unsettled by media references to Auschwitz as a "Polish concentration camp".

German newspaper Der Spiegel this week called the camp "Polish", prompting anger in Warsaw."

"Poland wants Unesco to change the official name to "Former Nazi German Concentration Camp Auschwitz-Birkenau".

I see no problem in this. As time goes by, many people will refrence Auschwitz as the "polish camp". If they want to rename it to keep their digintiy, then so be it.

"Poland said it expected an answer later this year. "

Good luck.

Defying History?

The film "Defiance" came out this past January. The film is about Jewish brothers in Nazi-occupied Eastern Europe that escape into the Belarussian forests (formally Poland), where they join Russian resistance fighters and go on to build a village in order to protect themselves and about 1,000 Jewish non-combatants.

Many people in Poland did not agree with its adaptation of this true story. Their argument is that its not historically accurate.

Maybe its a good thing that the movie did no do so well over there.

Who considers Hollywood films to be a credible source of historical truth anyway? Unfortunately, a lot of people do.

Sounds like they need to change this to" inspired by a true story".

Dont tase me bro!

What would you do if you believed that I was going to attack you with a stapler? If you said you would tase me, you might be Canadian!

Why in the world would you tase a man 5x until death. I'm sure they could have restrained him if they believed he was that much of a threat. Of course he was distraught and angry..you were using a taser on him!

Thats the last time I raise my voice in a Canadian air port...
